STANDARD CONTROLS AWARDED 156 LV SECTIONS FOR ACC6 DATA CENTER
Dallas, Texas – July 16, 2011 –Switchboard manufacturer Schneider Electric awarded Standard Controls, Inc. a contract for the product engineering, wiring, UPS interface, and functional testing of 156 base OEM UL 891 structures for the DuPont Fabros ACC6 Phase I data center located in Ashburn, Virginia. The first set of fully integrated and tested switchboards is scheduled to be delivered on site within 16 weeks.
According to Owner’s Representative Joe Guentert of Power Distribution Systems, Standard Controls was selected based on the company’s capability to provide huge volumes of highly complex and identical lineups with speed and accuracy and nearly perfectly wired. Mr. Guentert further cited that Standard Controls' design and flawless execution provide the ability to start up and commission systems in record time.
The 222,260 square foot data center provides 26.0 MW of critical power, with 13.0 MW dedicated to Critical Load, supported by 24 Rotary power systems with 1,300 kW of critical output each and 24 diesel-powered engine generators with 2,250 kW capacity each.
The ACC6 data center was Standard Controls’ 10th project since 2005 for Dupont Fabros. Standard Controls has integrated over 2,200 sections of switchgear / switchboards for DFT sites in Chicago, Santa Clara, Ashburn, and Piscataway, working with various OEM manufacturers including IEM, Siemens, and Square D.
