STANDARD CONTROLS AWARDED DUPONT FABROS SC1 DATA CENTER

Schneider Electric Selects Standard Controls for Santa Clara Site

Dallas, Texas – June 08, 2011 –Switchboard manufacturer Schneider Electric awarded Standard Controls, Inc. a contract for the product engineering, wiring, UPS interface, and functional testing of 112 base OEM UL 891 structures for the DuPont Fabros SC1 data center located in Santa Clara, California.  Included in the award process were Power Distribution Systems, CCG, and Holder Construction.  The first set of fully integrated and tested switchboards is scheduled to be on site in early November.

According to Owner’s Representative Joe Guentert of Power Distribution Systems, Standard Controls was selected based on the company’s capability to provide huge volumes of highly complex and identical lineups with speed and accuracy and nearly perfectly wired.  Mr. Guentert further cited that Standard Controls' design and flawless execution provide the ability to start up and commission systems in record time.

The 360,000 square foot data center provides 36.4 MW of critical power, with 18.2 MW dedicated to Critical Load, supported by 32 Rotary power systems with 1,300 kW of critical output each and 32 diesel-powered engine generators with 2,250 kW capacity each.

The SC1 data center was Standard Controls’ tenth project since 2005 for Dupont Fabros.  Standard Controls has integrated over 1,900 sections of switchgear / switchboards for DFT sites in Chicago, Santa Clara, Ashburn, and Piscataway, working with various OEM manufacturers including IEM, Siemens, and Square D.
