Standard Controls Inc. forms Standard Solar and Wind as a division of Standard Controls, Inc.

Standard Solar and Wind was formed to address the growing needs of the renewable energy market with the primary objectives to:

  • Develop new products for the renewable energy market with a primary focus on the solar and wind energy markets.
  • Design, manufacture, and distribute solar and wind energy products designed to enhance the performance of existing solar and wind energy products.
  • Establish full-scale distribution of a complete line of solar and wind energy products from multiple original manufacturers as well as Standard Solar and Wind’s new products and product enhancements.
  • Establish a training center for solar and wind installation professionals for both commercial and residential markets. 
  • Establish an engineering design and support center for photovoltaic and solar thermal concentrator systems to provide technical assistance for Standard Solar and Wind customers and installation professionals.  

 

Standard Solar and Wind executives believe that existing Standard Controls’ competencies will translate into highly innovative and useful products designed for specific applications in the renewable energy market. These competencies include:

  • Utilizing parent Standard Controls’ existing innovative and expert electrical and control system engineering design capabilities in solar and wind energy systems design.
  • Capitalizing on Standard Controls’ core strength of mechanical design and fabrication in the development of new products to enhance the design and installation of solar and wind systems.

 

Standard Controls Inc. is a well established engineering, design and manufacturing firm with over 15 years experience in the design of energy and control systems.

Standard Controls has implemented Performance Excellence quality management system as defined by the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.  The new Standard Solar &Wind division will be able to incorporate this high performing quality management system into its operations upon inception. 

Standard Control’s engineers are currently designing and prototype testing photovoltaic string combiners and solar array tracking software and motion control systems.  Mechanical design and fabrication of solar array tracker systems will begin in the first quarter of 2010.
